Field Ecology of NYC: Winter Holiday Tree Ecology
Students in Professor Andrew Reinmann’s Field Ecology of NYC course (PGEOG 38367 / PGEOG 70467) closed out the semester with their annual visit to Dave, a long-time Christmas tree vendor on East 67th Street. Dave shared insights from 30 years of experience selling NYC holiday trees and managing his tree farm in Pennsylvania. Students learned about tree species, sustainable growing practices, and the ecological stories behind a holiday tradition.
